Soulafa Is a cancer biologist interested in evolutionary molecular mechanisms of tumor therapy escape and adaptation. Together with Andrea, she is currently leading an independent DFG project investigating the multi-omic evolution of resistance in cancer using 3D organoids.
In 2023, Soulafa started a junior research group, CanEvo (Cancer Evolution), located at the Virchow Campus of the Charité University Hospital in Berlin, Germany. CanEvo works on colorectal cancer and paediatric cancer evolution. We are especially interested in how tumor cells escape different treatments and relapse despite systematic therapy.
